Why a seminar on urban futures?

Facing the abyss of a mutilated future, mistrust, frustration and fear threaten to privatise life in the city. Bereft of alternative points of reference for our territories, we scarcely speak about the future. As a result, we often find ourselves merely waiting, at times even without hope. Moreover, in a world shaken by the convergence of multiple crises, cities are increasingly imagined as hostile places, condemned by the climate crisis and governed by an every-person-for-themselves imperative.
