Assistant Professor in Geography at the University of Santiago de Compostela since 2022. His research interests in urban geography and urban studies have led him to develop his academic career across several French institutions, including Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, the CNRS, Université Cergy-Pontoise and the École d’Urbanisme de Paris.
He completed a jointly supervised PhD between Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and USC in 2016 on the spatial impact of major cultural flagship projects in European cities, assessing the consequences of replicating the Bilbao Guggenheim model in different contexts. He later held postdoctoral positions with Labex DynamiTe and the Chair Aménager le Grand Paris, focusing on transformations in European metropolitan peripheries. As distinguish postdoctoral fellow María Zambrano, he carried on his collective research on long-term urban regeneration projects for large housing estates and public spaces. His research addresses social and spatial inequalities, residential segregation, urban fragmentation and gentrification through comparative and multi-scalar methodologies within critical urban studies. His perspective on urban futures advocates more collaborative forms of urban production guided by principles of social, environmental and landscape justice.
